Foster Consulting Services, LLC is an education consulting firm rooted in the belief that meaningful change begins by planting the right seeds. We are “Planting the Seeds… Fostering the Future!” Founded to support schools, districts, and organizations in growing strong, sustainable systems, Foster Consulting Services serves as a relentless catalyst for change—helping learning communities move from intention to impact. With a solid foundation in instructional leadership, strategic planning, and school improvement, our work is designed to foster growth at every level, from classrooms to communities.
The Foster Consulting Services team is composed of dedicated problem solvers, strategic thinkers, dynamic facilitators, passionate advocates, and inventive coaches. Together, we bring diverse expertise across instructional leadership, special education, social-emotional learning, mental health, and community engagement. United by a shared commitment to growth, we help organizations overcome challenges, close opportunity gaps, and achieve their most important goals. Our Founder
Dr. Tara M. Foster, NBCT is the visionary behind and lead learner for Foster Consulting Services, LLC. Dr. Foster has served as a classroom teacher, teacher leader, educational consultant, instructional coach, a K-5 Math and Science Training Coordinator, an assistant principal for elementary, middle, & high school levels as well as an Elementary School Principal. Dr. Foster currently serves as a Regional Coordinator for the Office of Mathematics Improvement in the Alabama State Department of Education and has a wide range of research-based strategies which she uses to promote best practice, technology-infused learning experiences focused on the growth of students. This knowledge base also allows her to provide leadership and guidance for classroom teachers. Her coaching style is based on effective listening skills, powerful discourse opportunities, and intensive training. Dr. Foster was also elected to serve as the Regional Director for the Southern 2 Region for NCSM Leadership in Mathematics Education. This region includes Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee & Texas and her term is from 2025-2028.
Academically, Dr. Foster earned the Doctor of Philosophy degree, specializing in Leadership in Educational Administration, from Capella University. The information gained from these studies has equipped her to work more proficiently in administrative roles while maintaining her ability to relate and build a rapport with classroom teachers. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree from Alabama State University, and a Master’s degree from the University of Montevallo. Both degrees are in Early Childhood Education. She completed the requirements for Class A administrative certification in Alabama by earning a Master of Arts degree in Education Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham which was obtained in December, 2014. She also obtained an Education Specialist degree in Adult Education from Auburn University in May 2015. Additionally, Dr. Foster earned National Board Certification in 2007 as an Early Childhood Generalist and recertified in 2017.
Dr. Foster believes being in education is her true calling; and she does not take this responsibility for granted. She seeks opportunities to hone her gifts and talents to better serve those who are, and will be, placed in her path. The focus Scripture for her life’s work is Ephesians 4:11.
